LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR
OUTDOOR PROJECT

WHERE ARE YOU IN THE PLANNING PROCESS?
WHAT SERVICES ARE YOU INTERESTED IN?

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
BEFORE YOU BUILD

  • HOW MUCH SHOULD I BUDGET FOR A CUSTOM DECK?
Every deck we build is tailored to your space, lifestyle, and vision - so costs can vary. Factors like size, design complexity, material choices, and site conditions all influence the final price. That said, a good starting point for a custom composite deck with Simcoe Decks is approximately $150 per square foot.
  • WHAT SIZE BACKYARD DO I NEED TO BUILD A DECK?
You don’t need a large backyard to enjoy a well-designed deck. We’ve built custom outdoor spaces for everything from townhomes to compact city lots. Our team works with the space you have - no matter the size - to design a functional, stylish deck that enhances your outdoor living without compromising on quality.
  • WHY CHOOSE COMPOSITE OVER WOOD DECKING?
Composite decking offers a longer lifespan with far less maintenance. Unlike wood, it won’t rot, splinter, or warp - and it never needs to be sanded or stained. It’s a smart, long-term investment that keeps your deck looking great with minimal upkeep.
  • WHY STEEL FRAMING OVER WOOD FRAMING?
Steel is the ideal framing for composite decking because it matches the lifespan of the composite decking itself. Unlike pressure-treated wood, which can warp, rot, or deteriorate over time, steel offers unmatched strength, durability, and resistance to moisture and pests. Choosing steel means investing in a longer-lasting, low-maintenance structure that won’t compromise the performance or appearance of your deck.
  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD A DECK FROM START TO FINISH?
The timeline can vary based on the size of your deck, design complexity, and site conditions. Once construction begins, we’ll provide a clear timeline during the design phase so you know exactly what to expect. Want a real-world example? Check out this case study to see what a typical build looks like from start to finish.
  • WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO BUILD?
The best time to start planning your deck is during the winter. Frozen ground creates ideal conditions for construction with minimal site disturbance - and getting a head start means your deck will be ready to enjoy as soon as the warmer weather arrives. Early planning = earlier enjoyment. Let’s make sure you don’t miss a single summer weekend outdoors.
  • DO YOU ONLY WORK IN SIMCOE COUNTY, OR DO YOU TRAVEL FURTHER?
Our primary service areas include Simcoe and Grey County, Collingwood, and The Blue Mountains. However, depending on the scope and location of the project, we occasionally extend our reach beyond these regions. If you're outside our core area, feel free to reach out - we’re happy to discuss what's possible.
  • DO YOU OFFER WARRANTIES ON YOUR WORK OR MATERIALS?
Yes - we’re proud to offer warranty coverage on both our workmanship and the composite materials we use. All of our decks are built with high-quality composite products, and each material offers its own warranty depending on the specific type you choose. We’ll guide you through the available options so you can select the right composite with the durability, style, and coverage that fits your needs. With Simcoe Decks, you can feel confident that your investment is protected.
  • HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY DECK AFTER IT IS BUILT?
One of the biggest advantages of composite decking is its low-maintenance nature. To keep your deck looking great, simply rinse it with a garden hose and occasionally clean it with mild soap and water - no sanding, staining, or sealing required. For a deeper clean, a pressure washer with a fan tip nozzle can be used safely. We’ll also provide care guidelines specific to your composite choice so you know exactly how to maintain your deck with confidence.
  • DO YOU HANDLE THE PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS?
Yes - we take care of most of the logistics, including permits and inspections, so you don’t have to. Our goal is to make the process seamless, allowing you to sit back and watch your custom deck come together with confidence.
